After a solid 2 weeks of trying to decide what my first saber should be, I finally placed my order and confirmed my entry into the raffle  Smiley

My budget was $500 total (Australian, which is about $380 USD right now). So, I had a choice between going with a premium hilt while saving money on features, or one of the cheaper hilts with more expensive features. Luckily, I can appreciate minimalist design and ended up spending $470 AUD (or $360 USD) on a......


Dominix v4 with Obsidian Premium Sound (I like the black hilts and plan on weathering this one with sandapaper)

Blade LED Color - Arctic Blue (because classic Star Wars)

Flash on Clash - Flash Silver (I have to see what this is like in person. It may be a feature I can save $50AUD on the next one.....did I say 'next one'?)

Li-Ion Setup with BuckPuck (Batteries & XTAR VC2 Plus Charger Included)

No Recharge Port (I couldn't justify $100AUD on this feature. I race offroad RC cars, I'm ok with charging batts)

Blade Length 36" (I'm 6' 1" and I figure anything less than that will feel a bit like a toy)

Blade - UltraEdge Midgrade (I hear that the 'cooler' temperature colours suit Ultraedge blades)

Windows in Emitter (well worth the money for cool factor in my opinion)

Regular Vented Pommel (apparently nice and loud, so maybe I can turn the volume down a bit and extend the runtime)

Obsidian USB V4 Sound! [V4] (the ability to customise and switch between multiple sound fonts on one saber?.....sold!)

Blue Illuminated Black AV Switch (minimalistic hilts need something to jazz them up a bit)

No covertec wheels or stands etc.

A Standard Plug

2 extra Li-Ion 14500 batteries

Second Summer Raffle Ticket

Free Random Blade Plug for spending more than $300 (who knows?.....I might need a second plug for some reason)

I love weathered black hilts - they always look awesome. I have a v4 Initiate, and it's very nice to handle. I'm sure its bigger brother will be great, too. Great choice!

Yep, I'm pretty excited already and I got a feeling that US will receive a couple more orders when my mates see what they're like  Wink

I was very close to going with an Archon 2.1, but after enquiring about the backorder, I decided that 15 weeks was just too long to wait. So if anyone else is thinking about the Archon 2.1, don't expect them to be back in stock anytime soon.

Good calls on the options vital-blurs:).  You won't regret the FoC silver, it's amazing.  I have a couple sabers with it, it's intense and goes good with so many colours (AB especially). 

I don't actually own a Dom yet- loved the sentinel so much once I tried it I had to get a couple lol!  Definitely going to in future though- look forward to seeing it Smiley.  Good luck, MTFBWY!

Finally got around to taking a picture.  The emerald driver is tons of fun.  Having the Graflex makes me want a Chosen now, heheh.  Maybe I'll get lucky with the raffle.

Hi Saberforum, after a few months of inactivity on here I've came back for the summer raffle and I've just placed my order, haha, it's a prophecy v3 premium sound in arctic blue, and this second purchase is a present for my wife... she doesn't know anything about it, so when it arrives she will be very happy and surprised, or she will maybe kill me for spending the money Sad... or maybe both... let's hope the surprise makes her forget a bit about the money. We can finally play and battle each other now... I was getting a bit bored of just spinning around...

I think that's aweome ordering a saber for the old lady!  Hopefully she will to hahaha.  Just remember to go heavy on the "see baby, I wanted this passion to be something we shared, did together.  I thought the only way this saber world could get any better was if YOU came into it with me cause you're so special Wink, blah blah blah" "the only thing I love more in the world than sabers is you, so I thought, how awesome would it be to bring you into it?!" Etc.-  you get the picture.  They can't help themselves with that crap, works every time lol.

Everyday that this raffle is up is another day where I want to buy another saber to be entered again. Must I say that it is so hard to control myself? I have multiple sabers in mind for the future already and I don't have more than just a grab bag delivered yet. I don't want to know how bad of an addiction this will be when I actually get my saber and especially if I get something in this raffle.

I decided to sell my 2 v4 li-ion stunt staffs and put the money in a premium hilt with Sound for the Raffle.

Somehow, between specific purchases, grab bags, raffle prizes & free Initiates . . . I ended up with an utterly crazy number of V4 hilts . . . and not nearly enough of the sabers I really wanted.

So I'm culling the V4s a little bit and adding this build idea to my collection.


I really dig the Imperial Knight Lightsaber as depicted here:








As you can see, it has the White blade with a Black ribbed section and a Silver shroud.


Do those last 2 elements sound like a familiar UltraSaber to you?  Wink


Yep . . . for my personal version of an Imperial Knight saber, I went with the Consular, like this:
