My new auto came in. Last week I was looking for OTF knife and just happen to see this Boker. Now it's not OTF but it is an auto and the price was right. I like the cool factor is the auto and this is just the perfect size to carry. It has a 3.5 inch blade.

It came in a pretty neat little box that looks like a rifle magazine, just a cool bonus.

Quick note on knife laws in Canada, there are none.

Pretty sure that isn't true. The prohibition by the CBSA affects travelers and residents alike. According to the law, enforcement deems a folding knife illegal if:

It has a blade that opens by centrifugal force, when, with a simple and brisk outward flick of the wrist, the blade is released from the handle into the fully ejected and locked position; and
It requires some preliminary or simultaneous minimal manipulation of either a flipper or other non-edged parts of the blade.
The CBSA also updated its list of prohibited weapons, which includes gravity, centrifugal, and automatic knives, among others. 
Carrying knives in public can get you in trouble depending on who you encounter. It was summed up like this:

"This law is about intent. This means if you’re caught with a knife that’s concealed on your person while in a location you don’t require a knife to be used as a tool, you may be in for a bad time."

Be careful out there. And legal.

That sounds about right.  The sad part is that there's no way to know if you might need a knife.  They are extremely useful multi-purpose tools.  That's why you find flint chips EVERYWHERE in stone-age sites, and why even bronze blades were prized possessions as far back as we have human history.  But now?

Sadly - as inane as it might seem, it's fact.

This basically includes every folding knife by definition.  I mean, what folding knife doesn't "flick" open?

Yes - A cop asks you what your knife is for.  NEVER say self defense.  Even as a last resort.  Then it's a weapon.   "It's for cutting zip-ties, and it's in my pocket every day."

Yes - be safe; and be smart.
