Good looking out, Ultra.

Absolutely, be knowledgable about the law in writing. Carry with wisdom and common sense. When I said there were no laws, that's how it was worded to me by the officer I spoke to. However now that I think about it, I think he was referring to general EDC. Which in that light what I said earlier makes more sense lol.

Knife laws/regulations are the same across Canada, so every officer needs to know them the same. I spoke with my local city police a week ago about this very thing.

I was told that you cannot carry a prohibited (he may have said restricted too, can't remember)blade in public. You need to be cautious not to carry in environments like schools, hospitals etc.

You can carry a folding or fixed blade in public without question, unless how you behave effects others in a threatening or dangerous way. So I will carry in all but the obvious "not to" places. There are many knives that don't meet any or a few(not all) of the "watch list" criteria which still gives a lot of options to carry publicly.

I also imported two folders from the US into Canada, one of which was spring assist. It met all the fling/easy wrist open criteria listed in Ultra's post.

I spoke with the CBSA agent about these knife import "restrictions". I call them that, because the agent described them as open to interpretation by CBSA staff. The agent didn't hesitate to allow me passage with those products.

So my thoughts are (as this has caused me to delve further)  be responsible, be respectful, be smart and you can accomplish a lot of what you have your heart set on in this hobby.

I do think it makes a difference though, dealing with customs one on one vs. importing by mail. Because engaging them, asking questions and being transparent paints a picture of the person not the object, if that makes sense. We'll see how things look going fwd with these increasing changes.

Paranoid people afraid of their own shadows demand safety.   What they don't realize is that to be safe ... you cannot be free.
The only way to be safe is to be free.

I remember this video. The copper Kershaw Natrix, Boker AK, Benchmade Bugout, Kershaw Launch 4 and Spyderco Para 2 are great knives and I'm glad that they made the list.

Fun fact: The Kershaw Natrix is modeled after the Zero Tolerance 0770 but has G10 scales instead of aluminum along with an 8Cr13MoV blade versus the ZT's Elmax (CPM-S35VN for the Carbon Fiber) blade which is one of the highest grades of steel that's used for high-end knives.

My newest addition to my knife collection, the Zero Tolerance 0801. BTW, I was mistaken, it's a Ti handle and not Aluminum

Talking about the difference between Flipper knives and Manual folding knives.  Also, touched base on the difference between liner lock and frame lock knives

From bottom to top:
Winchester (not sure of the model), that was my first pocket knife.
SOG (is it SOGA? Can't ever tell) Twitch, found it on the ground.
Kershaw (not sure of model), spring assisted, pretty nice knife. My main carrying knife.
Milwaukee Utility Knife
Milwaukee knife as well. The two Milwaukee's are what I use at work. Surprisingly good knifes (surprising because I would not have expected Milwaukee to make a knife).
Kershaw (Should know the model, but I don't), my other carrying knife. Got it for Christmas last year.
Smith & Wesson H.R.T., Essentially a concealed carry knife, only one side of the blade is sharp though. Looks cool and is fun to wear.
The top is one I got from my Grandfather. It used to be his hunting knife. Bone handle I think, though it could be antler.

Also have a set of throwing knives that I forgot to include in the picture. I'll try and get a pic of them sometime.

Nice collection, Teagan.  :-)   I'll have to lay mine out.   Not that many, though...   :-)

Great collection you have there, Taegin!  I knew you wouldn't disappoint.

The all silver Kershaw is the Manifold Assisted Opening BlackWash knife and the black one is the Kershaw Brawler Assisted Opening BlackWash.  Both are great EDC knives and that SOG is awesome. Love that fixed bladed knife that your grandfather gave you by the way. Point

Here's the new 0801Ti

And of course, mine

Most of mine are just cheap knives but here are my favorites.

First up a cheap camping knife but one of my favs.

Next a “supposedly” Damascus steel butterfly. I say supposedly cause it was really cheap and my understanding is that Damascus steel isn’t cheap.

The next one is from Alaska. The blade isn’t anything special but the handle and base are made from whale bone.

The next one is from India if I remember correctly. Handle and sheath are wooden.

This one is a Argentine boot knife made of silver. Have to keep the blade greased so it doesn’t get stuck inside the sheath.

And finally my folding knives from France. It’s a set of three but dad said he got them for me with the condition he got to keep the one of his choice.

Ulus are good knives. I've never used one, but there is obviously a reason why their design has lasted as long as it has.

To me, if you like the knife or the brand, "cheap knives" is a term used by those people who don't appreciate how you appreciate the knife.  If it works for you, if its a knife that you enjoy and love, then go for it.

All great knives above, this thread is rant moving along now!

On another note I cut my thumb with my new knife today (not bad) so it is officially my knife now.
