Lower your shipping prices. There is no reason it should cost $13.30 to send a saber tip to Atlanta. Stick that tiny thing in an envelope and put a stamp on it.

I have to agree with this. I think that's the single minor complaint I have with US. Although if you E-mail them and ask nicely, they might be able to help.

Come on, guys, we use an automated shopping cart program on our website, not Protocol Droids. The site is going to calculate shipping based on UPS live rates regardless of how small the item is. The program is not an artificial intelligence and cannot make decisions like "Oh, I'll just put this part in an envelope". For those kinds of decisions, you have to email one of us live human beings. If you just contact us, we'll be happy to accomodate those special needs. We have been offering personalized service like this since 2005. I'm really surprised someone would complain about this and insinuate we were charging "crazy rates", and even more surprised that long time fans were agreeing with it.

I think the rates are pretty reasonable given the size, especially the length, of the packages. But, part of my business is arranging freight, and I know how crazy expensive it can be. Explaining to your customer that, yes, believe it or not, shipping on your FC 250, 14' long item is actually more than its retail cost, is not what I call fun.

I worked in a shipping department of an online business for a few years and I will probably be back there in a month when one of my co workers leaves. the prices are definitely not crazy expensive. the only way to lower costs for shipping is to use flat rate boxes, but it you fit a lightsaber blade in one of those you would get it in 3 pieces...

I for one Ultra think the shipping rates are very reasonable I live in Cincinnati OH and for ups ground for something a little over 120 was like 14 bucks, If a part cost 5 buck ups still has the same exspense getting that to me as well as a 350 dollar item same travel distance everytime. I dont want this thread to be a oh lets go complain about something I dont think is reasonable thread, its a thread to suggest product ideas. Not price changes on shipping or sabers or any of Ultra Sabers fine products, so thanks guys for understanding, and keep those ideas flowing.

i know that many of you do this on your own but for those of us without the ability i.e. no artistic ability; maybe more options for customizations. Not like big things but little things like maybe an option for a lighted switch, or a different switch like slider switch. maybe an option to tap extra holes in the emitter to allow more light out. or maybe a short engraving...like i think having the Jedi Code (There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force.) engraved along the emitter or down the side of a saber would be cool.
i don't know how difficult these would be.

The Jedi code... I want it on my saber. Now.
Seriously, though, Kewlkev, if you send 'em an Email asking about a slightly customized saber with a different switch or engraving, I'm sure they'll work with you on getting a custom saber for you.

I was thinking about the whole covertec thing. The sabers, when they are attached, since they are round, they have the freedom of movement, right? Well, in my experience, they have somewhat of a movement range. With my saber, well, at least my D-Ring one, it swings a hits me sometimes when I am walking and such. Sure you can grab it, but sometimes you cant. I was thinking, instead of a wheel, what if you would form the covertec into like an oval shape, or somehow create the wheel so that the saber would be stationary. Not sure if the saber is all ready stationary with the wheel, again, not to much experience with it, but just thinking out loud I suppose.
And on the whole prop note, I just thought of something. Not sure if it has been brought up before, but what about offering other sorts of props. Not really anything ellaborate or anything like that, but something basic in terms of pouches or food capsules or things like that. Cant remember if I all ready read anything on that, but I think what would make costume making a bit easier for some people. Could even come with small compartments to hold allen wrenches and batteries. I myself carry a utility belt of tools everywhere I go in costume.
