If there was some way, I think wiring LEDs into the screw holes would be awesome, then stitch it up and just let it pulse and glow...  I told him I'd get an Emerald driver, 6 LEDs, and we could put the battery pack and a recharge port in his fore arm... he was out of it though, because he said ok.

Wife said no though.

Though... I wonder what Flash on Clash would look like if he hit someone...

of course he said ok, cause its such a cool idea  Cool

points, for support and get well wishes  Smiley

Follow-up: At long last (after eight months of waiting) I have news of my knee. The soft tissue injury is finally healed and I can try to find work (since I was laid off while on sick leave). However, while the muscles are healed and strengthening, I have almost no knee joint left. I have, in the words of the docs and workman's comp, severe bone bruising that still needs to heal and severe (they repeated it) osteoarthritis. My leg bones and patella are rubbing against each other and that pressure is what is giving me pain.

The only solution to remove the pain would be a knee replacement. I'm going to be speaking with my GP this week to see what he recommends (possibly cortisone injections until I can get the knee replaced). This is both good and bad. It is bad in that if it was just a tear or strain, it could have been fixed more easily. However, the good side is I now know I'm not going to strain anything worse by increasing my activity. Pain will just be a part of life until I get the knee replaced. Knowing that gives me some relief. I can try to help what's left of the joint by dropping weight, but knowing the pain is inevitable frees me up greatly. Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes and for keeping me in your thoughts since September.

Ben, I feel your pain, on a daily basis, I feel your pain.

I've had three surgeries on my left knee over the years.  Doc flat out told me after the last one (two years ago now) that the next one would have to be a complete replacement.  I've got bone on bone contact and constant pain with my left knee.  Doc's are wary about doing a knee replacement this young (I just turned 40 in March) since they only seem to have a 10-15 year life cycle before it needs done again.

Of course I'm also still arguing about my left shoulder too.  First Doc said the Surgery word, so of course insurance sent me to another doctor for a second opinion.  So far I've seen this guy twice, once to meet me and pretty much take the 66-page file from me to review, and a second time to get stabbed in the shoulder with a 4th shot, that if he had bothered reading the damn file, he'd know the first three did squat to help the pain.  Now I go see him again on June 5th.  I'm half expecting him to send me to physical therapy or something, since it's been since December that I was doing that.

November to June is too damn long to keep waiting for a diagnosis.

Oh Stucker, I am so sorry to hear that. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy....no, I wouldn't wish it on them. The last specialist I saw had wanted me to wait until I turned 30 for the replacement, but I'm hoping this new development will have them replace it sooner. I certainly hope your docs pick up the pace and help you out.

I have done the cortisone shots on my knees, feet, and shoulders. They are amazing but not super long lasting. You  might want to mention to your GP about getting on Diclofenac sodium tablets. I take those twice per day and they help long term with joint pain. The only side effect is that you can only take Tylenol for the rest of your life for any OTC pain as aspirin and NSAIDS can increase your risk of brain hemorrhages. It was a good trade off for me.

Just need to unload...  Co-worker got a freaking Ducati motorcycle for free from a client they train.... Let's just say me still on my scooter... Feeling more then pissed off and mad at the world and karma for keeping me on the side lines.... Struggling to keep bills up to date and paying for bullshell classes just to keep my profession up to date... I'm never gonna get off this scooter, let alone get a bike, even still, it's hopeless to think about s car..... I'm so close to just saying F%#£@ IT !!!  And dropping my profession and becoming one of the millions of fast food service workers... Hell the countries about to give them 10$-15$ an hour. With no classes needed, no license to keep up, and free benefits.... Why did I go to college again?Huh     I really, really hate myself right now, and am feeling really low....   Just needed to unload it... Not that anyone can do anything about other then myself....  Just feels hopeless and worthless to try so hard knowing you will not make a single step forward... Regardless of the effort put forth..

I'll be back to my normal work for free attitude in a few days... Just gets all bottled up... Carry on.

Humans have apparently lost their sense of humor. It doesn't matter what you say, or how many think it's funny, there will ALWAYS be that one person who things you're a jerk for saying it. And I don't mean things that actually could be taken as insensitive, necessarily. Even an entirely innocent joke offends SOMEONE. Have we just become a culture of sensitive people? I mean really, it was a silly joke. No need to whine and cry about it. You don't like it, just don't laugh and ignore me, for Pete's sake!

Brother, sometimes you just gotta say, WTF!  Life's not fair, no one ever said it would be.  Thing is, take that anger and frustration and channel it to your advantage, your benefit.  Now, I'm not saying go and run over your co-workers Ducati, just turn it positive.  Head up, shoulders back and move forward!  I can't tell you how many times in life I got knocked back, knocked down.  There comes a point where you shake it off and keep driving forward.  Don't let misfortune rule your life.  Rule it!  MTFBWYA, my brother!

Man, I'd like to get this engraved on a plaque and just . . .  hit someone with it now and then.   Cheesy  I, too, suffer from this problem.  Seriously, if you don't like what I have to say?  Hey, that's cool.  Get out and get over it.  But to get all puffed up and proclaim how "offended" you are is getting a little old, especially when it's something as simple as, "I like cheddar cheese."  There's always some idiot going, "What do you MEAN you like cheddar???  What about AMERICAN cheese, huh?  Did you ever think about THAT?"   Well, no.  Because I freakin' like cheddar cheese, dammit.   Tongue

I must conucur on this.  It has become increasingly difficult with folks that get so offended by such down in the weeds type stuff.  I am no fan of "PC"!  I respect a person that speaks their mind and has their own opinion.  It is those that judge me upon my own grounds which, frankly, is nonsense.  We are all entitled to think and feel.  We are all entitled to believe or disbelieve.  We are not a bunch of Star Bellies running around looking to besmerch Sneeches.  Like you said, Nox, if you don't like it, box it and move on!  By the way, I like cheddar cheese too, dammit! YEAH, CHEDDAR!   Cheesy

The thing about "getting offended" is that the offended party is choosing it.  I'm not the problem.  Their attitude about what they perceive my intent to be is the problem.  I'm responsible for what I say, but not for how someone else might interpret that.  I can't control what others think, so if they are choosing to be offended?  Whatever.  Have fun with that.  It's not you're granted some special privilege for it.  You're offended.  So what?

Clearly!  One thing I learned long ago is this:  Only YOU can make YOU feel the way you do.  "IF" someone says something that is offensive to YOU and you allow yourself to play into that, then YOU are responsible for doing so.  No one has control over "how" you feel but YOU.  That's  why if someone gets offended, that's their issue, not yours.  CHEDDAR!!!!
