Do the Impossible!

I think for your next project you should try engraving a phoenix - I could imagine one looking almost like a stylised form of the Jedi symbol.

Heck, I'd consider sending you my Dark Libby for a chance at getting an engraving like that. Smiley

something similar to my avatar, you mean?

Thanks everyone Grin
@ Brian64- let me get some more practice on engraving and then we'll talk about it, but I'd love to do the work for you. The Phoenix is my favorite mitholigical creature

Verry close to what i'd imagine a cross between the phoenix and jedi symbol would look like.

I love this symbol so much for just that reason and it's the symbol I use for the hero of the story I'm writing. "The Incredible Firewall - The world's first Superhero!"

Honestly, If I had the money to spare and the patience to learn, I'd do something similar to what you're doing here, and engrave/cut-out my avatar in a shroud. With either a Blazing Red or Fire Orange blade to carry over the Phoenix theme. Nice long handle, too, since I've got big hands XD

And that black wrap, is that just regular tennis racquet grip?

No, I'd not. I didn't even know it was a thing XD

I'm assuming it's a forum color and it sounds fantastic.

It is a forum colour. Its generally described as 'more orange' or darker orange than Fire Orange. Tongue

Yet another update. Time to show y'all how I'm gona make the floating shroud work.

I had a slight misshap in drilling the holes for the screws one is a bit off.
No worries I'll do what any good artest should do and incorporate the mistake into the final designe. And it won't sotp Me from showing the princable of how the shroud fits and floats.

Here we see 1/2" 8/32 button head bolts with 1/8" spacers

It's starting to come together now. Looking good Mate. I like how you hid your 'Muck-up' on the copper top plate by adding an extra hole, it gives it another nice accent, and it follows on from the holes in the silver blade shroud!  Wink

I made a little More progress today. Finishing the shroud and attaching it. In doing so I found that I will only need one hole for the screws in the saber body the other two will hold firm with preasure

Next step the electronics install.
