I think the only thing that would need to change is the location of the hole for the set screw. All my shrouds, including the new one, #8, have been designed for the V3 sabers. I currently do not have any measurements for the new sabers, but I'm sure I can modify any of my shrouds to fit them as well upon request. That is the beauty of 3D printing  |

Well it's more the length. Right now, I have a blade plug and a clear piece of tubing to try and have the plug flush with the top as the scorpion has a lot more of a recess into it. It also has the open windows on it that are closer to the LED. If I just have the plug all the way flush up with the top of the emitter, it leaves the windows open. If I have it all the way down, then it's not flush nor does it get to be held in by the retention screws.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I must have missed your comment before. There are different lengths across the various designs in my shop. None of them, however, are solid other than the top and a ring on the bottom, connected by four beams. I do this to save on material costs and make them more affordable. The beams can be used as retention screw posts so that you can position the blade plug as deep into the saber as you want. If there is a certain length you need or if you want a solid blade plug I can modify any of the design I have for you, just let me know and I will try to accommodate.
Speaking of blade plugs...I have a new one to share with you all: Blade Plug 21  Blade Plug 21 is the newest blade plug in the shop. With its rounded slope and overlapping beams, it is sure to add style to your saber. Plus, there are holes between the beams that extend through the layers of the top to allow illumination of the inner chamber from the saber when on.

Very nice. Wish I had the money to buy one for my Overlord. Only got 20 bucks though left on a Visa debit card thing I used for my V4 saber. x.x Anyway you could still possibly hook me up? I actually like this design.

Unfortunately the updates to the way Shapeways calculates pricing makes it more expensive to order multiple parts in the same file. This is the reason I have removed the duo option from the shop. Their cost model now takes into account machine space when printing the product, in addition to the material cost and cost per part. I understand it would be more convenient to offer a bundle, but it is no longer more cost effective. |
