Grab Bag Commentary for First Time Buyers

I have considered whether I want my first saber to be my PCI or if I want to go ahead and do the saber I have picked out or if I want to do a grad bag first to get a random, higher tier saber.

Grab bag usually WON'T be "higher tier" hilt.

The current Premium Grab Bag Offer is an exception to this but you need to spend $500 to qualify for this.

Normally grab bags will be the likes of Aeon/Dominix/Sentinel/Dark Sentinel, maybe a Standard Isseue/ Dark SI/Liberator/ Dark Liberator. Maybe a v4 model but possibly a v3.

If you want a specific  Saber, go for it, and then you won't be disapointed.

If you simply want to get a heap saber to check out Ultrasabers build quality, then grab bags are perfect. I was lucky that when I opened my garb bag it was a Dominix LE v4 - it was exactly what I would probably gone for with mixture of anodised black and silver, with emitter windows. That helped me decide what I wanted from subsequent purchases.

I used "higher-tier" as a general term meaning higher-tier than an initiate. I am looking at a stunt initiate because it is what is within my budget, but a grab bag could get me something better for the same price. The only difference is the hilt and blade color would be random, rather than my choice. However, there is a chance I could like the hilt I get better than the one I first had picked out, being the initiate v4. Also, it would give me a chance to see if I liked a different color more than consular green, which is my choice color.

I definitely see where you are coming from and I will keep an eye on deal of the day since I can't afford to purchase yet anyway! I do like the Aeon, for sure. We shall see! I may still get the initiate with the 32" blade to meet European bastard sword specs!

Hi.  You have received helpful ideas from many members.  When you are ready to make your first purchase look at how much you actually have to spend including shipping.  View the stunt DotD.  Write down what you really want versus what you could potentially receive or not.  Would you really be excited about getting a red blade when you wanted green.  You could choose AS ( white blade ) and use the color disks to easily change the colors.  Factor in the charge for adding a blade with a grab bag and you might actually spend more money with less choice.

Great point! I think I would not like receiving a red blade. Just about any other color would be fine for me. Thanks for the advice!

I had to check, double check and triple check my order just in case lol. It was my first one and I needed to make sure I spent at least $500 lol

Love the feeling of waiting for your first Grab Bag.  Most common colours are Red, Green, Blue. So you should be fine. Good luck!!

Is the shipping really the same for a blade-less grab bag as it is for a bladed saber, or is that just the estimate?  (No hate, just curious)

yes, they also have grab bag blades. only special lenth or pointed tip will slow the order.

Cool, if the grab bags are mid-tier, I may just order another complete saber, and save a grab bag for a larger purchase down the road.
