Grab Bag Commentary for First Time Buyers

Hello all. New here. Finally got my first saber in the mail and loving it.
Deciding what to order next for the spring raffle when I saw this about a "grab bag".
What I understand is that a "grab bag" order is just one "I want a saber surprise me" thing. is that correct? A Little like a raffle with all tickets winning a prize with a FEW special prizes?
Mostly get a hilt so you can see/feel it for real Before you decide to get the expensive version of it with emerald version.

That's it exactly (as TheDarkling already pointed out).  It's a great way for newer people to test the waters to see just how good the products actually are (and they are awesome) without a huge monetary investment. 

I've received four random sabers so far (1 4th place raffle prize from last year, 1 grab bag giveaway, and two grab bag purchases).  I received a Sentinel LE, which I probably would not have gotten but have found to be very comfortable and like very much, a Dominix v3, which I also would never have gotten, but like even more than the Sentinel, a Dark Standard Issue, which I already had one of (although the Grab Bag one has vertical grooves and my other does not), but I love that model soooo much, so I'm thrilled to have another, and a Liberator, which was on my list of sabers I'd like to get someday, but was fairly far down the list, and I like it quite a bit.

So it's not just the surprise of which one you get, but discovering you really like one that you wouldn't have bought otherwise.

Got my first grab bag today. It is an Aeon v 4 in Guardian Blue. Very nice.

I'm noticing a few grab bags to be including the AV switch as opposed to the guarded switch on many of the hilts people are picturing around the forums...Can anyone confirm this?

If this is true it might reinvigorate my interest...Again. *ahem*

True. Today I recieved two grab bag sabers. One is an Aeon LE v4. The other is a Sentinel LE v4. Both have silver A/V switches.

Sentinel v4 FO
Dominix LE v4 BR

Both have non-illuminated AV switches.

With the free initiate giveaway I got  Dark Initiate v4 in BR. This one though has a guarded switch.

I just bought my first Emerald Saber with Sound! Got the CE Mantis Can't wait for it to come in am looking forward to holding it in my hand. Also put in for the free promo stuff as well.

Hey all, new to the forums. Ordered a grab bag a few weeks ago. Received a Apprentice v4 with a Silver AV switch, windowed emitter and it came in Guardian Blue. Was my introduction into US. Very happy. Already placed orders for more.

First time Ultra Saber buyer here. A couple weeks ago we went with an Initiate LE v4 with Obsidian Lite Sound with a Fire Orange blade for my wife, two grab bags for the kids, and the free Initiate (last month's special) for me. My youngest son received an Initiate V4 (he specified Violet Amethyst), and my eldest went with an Adegan Silver which was mounted in an Aeon V4.




We were all quite happy with the quality. In fact... I was so happy I decided to order another grab bag this morning!

I'm really heavily leaning in this direction for my first purchase.  (I was telling a friend at work about these and now he wants one too and figures his girlfriend will too)  I've shopped around and not found anybody else offering a saber you can duel with for under $100 that lights up.  Buying one of these will solve a number of things for me.

1.  I'm indecisive about what to buy first, this will take that problem off my hands.
2.  I'm new to sabering and want something I can practice with.
3.  Instead of mulling over what to buy, I can get this to use while I save up for the one I really want.
4.  I can afford it right now.

Another fun thing about this is that, as somebody said in their video review, it's a gift to yourself and a surprise all in one.  Plus, seeing all of the great pics and videos of what people have pulled out of grab bags makes me want one more.  There isn't a hilt or blade color on here I won't be happy with.

Edit:  I just pulled the trigger on this.  With two day shipping, I hope to have it Monday, which is my next day off.

Thinking about a grab bag. I've got my baby, a Sentinel V4 with sound in guardian blue but I want one to mess around with. I know I'm totally at their mercy but what do you think the chances are if I put in the comments "anything but blue"? Think they'd honor that? I don't really mind any other color.

I very much doubt they'll allow that XD If you're 100% positive that you don't want blue, you might as well think of a specific color and just pay 5$ (or $10) extra for a specific color. Actually, in your situation, I'd recommend adegan silver with color discs so you can get a taste of a bit of everything.
