So I decided to break my Flamberge down as far as I can without (maybe) invalidating my warranty.. that is the next step Wink

Before:

Looking down the throat.. you have to remove the side-LEDs from their housings in order to get this far..

The full exploded view..

Slightly zoomed in exploded view..

Next I'll be snipping the side LED wires so that I can use the body and pommel with various other MHS parts.. as I like to constantly tinker with my sabers.

DROOL!  That looks fantastic, and that there is a lot of pieces to make up the emitter section.  I have thought about this many times, thank you for the breakdown.  Lots of work has gone into this lightsaber, so much machining.  I am very excited to see what customizations you make of these parts magik0012.

Nice!  Can't wait to see what you do with that.

Been looking forward to seeing someone take the Emitter off and try some other things with the body.

Point awarded . . . much appreciation for this one.

I rarely break this out, but you get the official nod of approval.   Wink

Winning? Is that what you think it's about? I'm not trying to win. I'm not doing this because I want to beat someone, or because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone. It's not because it's fun. God knows it's not because it's easy. It's not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind! It's just that. Just kind.

Hey magik0012, did you get the print out with your Flamberge with the notes about what will void the warranty?

From my info, Ultrasabers clearly state that if the crossguard is unscrewed, that WILL void the warranty....

I also can't wait to see how you swap things around and customise...... +1 Cheers  Smiley

I don't think I got that printout, but I wasn't too concerned about the warranty anyway. I like to tinker.. and I figure if I break it, I can probably fix it.. probably. Wink

And yeah, if you just tried to unscrew the crossguard without knowing how the internals were set up, it's almost guaranteed you would cut or break the wires for the 2 side LEDs and possibly the main LED too.

Hahah, this. If I ever get my hands on a Renegade, it'll either be to to strip off the side blades for parts, or to paint up in a gold/emerald scheme similar to the SAO Excaliber.

Documenting for future reference, as I'd imagine the Flamberge and Renegade ought to share some build similarities.

Thought I'd post this here, just for reference about the warranty and the main crossguard piece.....

Now that's out of the way, thank you magik0012 because you gave me another idea with the Flamberge......  Smiley

I was the same when I got mine a few months ago, knew I was going to dismantle it to install quick disconnects, so pretty much did within minutes of playing with it, haha..... With mine, I put the qd connectors at the emitters so I could just swap over the LED modules with others I've got, but there's not much room in either side and it can be an issue..... I never thought of uncrewing the LED heatsink so they will go thru the emitters, that way I can put the qd's inside the hilt with longer wires to the LED's..... It means I'd have to have dedicated side LED's for the flamberge only, but I only wanted to swap out GB & BR so I might just do that..... Thanks for the idea..... here's another point Smiley

Well.. my Flamberge has been permanently disassembled for quite a while now, so I'm kind of operating from memory here..

The LED's for the side blades sat inside the 1" (?) extension piece and were basically held in place by the side blades if I remember correctly.

So.. something like this:

6" blade >into> side emitter ring >> LED >into> 1" Extension >> center barrel piece << 1" extension <into< LED << side emitter ring <into< 6" blade

As for wiring, I can't tell you much other than the wires from the side LED's were taped to the inner sides  of all the pieces of the cross-guard below the barrel.. which is one of the reasons why you have to be very careful when taking it apart.. if you just start unscrewing things willy-nilly, you are going to break some wires quite quickly..

The main LED housing had notches on the sides of the lip that allowed the wires for the side LED to pass down into the hilt where they were spliced into the wiring for the main LED.

I'm not sure if that helped at all..
