Hey there!

Thanks Deep!  I'll point people here too.

My preferences...

Round tips.  Always.
Heavy Grade, no matter what.  It doesn't detract from the brightness, unless you're scientifically measuring it in infinitesimal amounts.  It also ensures that you can only break a blade if you're specifically trying to break said blade.  And sometimes not even then.

I started with UEHG blades on all my sabers, but recently find myself leaning towards regular HG blades.  Fire Orange should almost always be on regular, and should only be combined with UE if you want an almost yellow effect on-camera.  Arctic Blue, on the other hand, should be on an UE blade.  The other colors are relatively neutral as to blade type.
I agree, HG have (practically) the same brightness as the MGs, and they have double the strength for dueling if you were looking to do that.

I think I'm a Midgrade person  I go by weight so for my 5'8 and 150 lbs  frame I will go MG and if the colors are brighter in  MG  then that's were I'm going with my sabers .  Smiley and round tip person always as well .

I'm completely new to this, and reading everyone's personal opinion of blade types has been incredibly useful. Thanks everyone

Kinda off topic but I have 2 heavy grades and when I duel they get all marked up. Is there any way to clean the blades?

So Sun Rider's Destiny in an Ultra Edge blade, anyone else ever notice that the teal comes out more in that blade? I think its kinda cool. I miss my Sun Rider's Destiny blade. Might have to get me another one maybe a regular Prophecy, silver hilt for once. Anyone got any pics of that set up? Just a Sun Rider's Destiny blade in either Ultra Edge blade

Normal Heavy Grade or the UltraEdge (UE) version? I have both types and would tend to say that it looks better in UltraEdge than in normal Heavy Grade blades.

Yes, normal Heavy Grade. Okay, I purchased my Arctic Blue Bellicose in normal Heavy Grade. I have a Scorpion in Sunrider's Destiny. I was thinking about swapping the blades out to see the difference between the brightness in those 2 different colors in UltraEdge Heavy Grade and normal Heavy Grade. I saw where Deep said, Sunrider's Destiny looks decent in Ultra Edge Heavy Grade. I was wondering would Sunrider's Destiny look better in Heavy Grade and Arctic Blue in UltraEdge Heavy Grade. I will find out when I receive my Bellicose. Thanks Buddy!

So, do people often buy extra blades and "swap" them out or do you just buy a saber to use exclusively for dueling?

Just got my Bellicose in the mail today and I chose the UE blade.  My raffle win Sentinel has the same blade.  The Arctic Blue looks unreal, like it could just burn your hand off if you touched it.  I am so in love with it.  The husband I dueled with them in the yard and although we went rather light, the blades are shockingly strong.  I'm thinking I might order another Sentinel (LOVE that hilt!) in Violet Amethyst with the UEHG.  Or maybe I'll just buy an UEHG for my Bellicose.   Good idea?  Bad idea?

I mean, seems a bit silly just to buy the blade when I could use the excuse to buy another saber.  Wink

Shiny saber you got there, let me fix that.

I own more blades than I do sabers - I just switch between the heavy grades and the midgrades based on what I'm doing.
You can do some good dueling with the midgrades, just no power strikes.

That being said, just buy another saber.
The VA and DVA are great colors.

It's quite common to have more blades than sabers Wink IIn the rare case of breaking a blade you always have backups.

I own two blades of each type and thickness for my 4 sabers (2 of them connecting into a Phantasm v3), so I can always choose the blade according to what I'm doing, like Drahcir said.

So I just ordered a regular Shock in Blazing Red with an Ultra Edge Heavy Grade blade, I'll post pics of just the blade for you guys once it comes in. Blazing Red really doesn't look half bad in that blade. Has kind of a PT look to the glow I think. Had one before so

This has probably been asked and answered within this thread, but watch me ask again.  Wink

When ordering a new blade for your saber (I'm getting a couple of UEHGs), is the standard length assumed to be 32 inches unless otherwise specified or do you need to specify length?

Hi Jedi Nox.  The standard blade length is 36".  You can request a free cut down to 32" in the order comments section after purchasing the 36".  Smiley
