Just want to make sure all users are aware that disassembling the entire saber as James has done here and then being unable to properly re-assemble it is not covered under warranty.  We do not recommend disassembling your saber this way if you are not certain that you can re-assemble it properly.

Love the disclaimer Deep Cheesy

I don't think id be game enough to disassemble mine, ill be happy just to have it. Be too afraid to stuff something up!

It is pretty awesome seeing how it all goes together like that though, someone is rather clever figuring out how to do it in the first place Smiley

Can't wait to try out my new coupler- is it sad I'm as excited for this as for my electrum wind? Tongue its amazing how often I swap back and forth between double bladed saber and dual sabers at events- which becomes a somewhat lengthy process of undo coupler from both and put the pommels on that were stored on my belt which requires that extra pouch- and when I want to be hands free and break them down to put on my belt this is going to make it so much easier!!

I'm sure not taking mine apart, I just got it.  Knowing me, I'd break it trying to disassemble or reassemble it.  Roll Eyes

Glad everyone's enjoyed the review - and hopefully people won't feel too tempted to pull theirs apart if it's not covered by the warranty! I made sure to take lots of photos so I could put it all back together; I did end up with one spare piece first time around (under the activation button).

That said, I'm glad I pulled it apart, as there's a lot of customisation options there!

The emitter couldn't work as an emitter on its own. Something like the Shock LE emitter may work on the hilt as it has gold highlights, but I'm not sure how well it'd adapt in. Otherwise, the Dark Shock emitter to pick up on the black/silver? The EW emitter would be a fine vented pommel for the LE Shock or Aeons.

B1ondeange1, you're right above swapping between staff and dual wielding - the option to do that was a big driving factor for me choosing this over the standard adaptable coupler. Although the hilts won't necessarily stay lined up with this, it's great to have the option here Cheesy

Considering I'm used to a regular coupler where they don't line up, I'm not terribly worried about that Wink

It does, however, work as a vented pommel. (yeah, I went there, it looks cool on my Initiate LE Cool)

I have a black non-adjustable coupler, so anything silver would have done for me, but I'm pleased to have gone for this. An adjustable coupler may be in the future, but I think I made the right choice this time around.

Shiny saber you got there, let me fix that.

Exactly what I was hoping someone would do with the EW.
All those separate pieces makes this perfect for some heavy customization.

Great review, James.  Point awarded.

And yeah - that's almost exactly how I thought it was built.  Wink

What's very cool though is there are 2 shroud pieces around the switch so you can take it apart without removing the switch.

On a Scorpion, the shroud is all 1 piece, so you can't slide it off without removing the switch first.

I really, really like that aspect of this hilt.

Winning? Is that what you think it's about? I'm not trying to win. I'm not doing this because I want to beat someone, or because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone. It's not because it's fun. God knows it's not because it's easy. It's not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind! It's just that. Just kind.

great in depth review, now we know the new design set up, could easily see more sleeve designs from this from one simple base hilt.

I had a feeling the customisers of the board would enjoy seeing it all pulled apart - I was amazed at how much came away from the hilt, like unlocking a puzzle box in a way Cheesy
