I quite honestly can't decide between the Flamebarge and Renegade. I think the Renegade looks cooler, but the Barge is closer to Kylo's hilt. 1and I'm also a bit afraid of the claws on the Renegade....
I so far have 36" blades on all my sabers, though none of my hilts are quite as ridiculously big as the aforementioned cross guard ones.
I'm trying to decide between a Sentinel, Prophecy, or Bellicose with the B+G driver(I might go RBGW IF I can afford it) and sound as my next saber. I might have to just settle on SRD if I'm really broke.....

Earned some major cool points with some little kids today. I work at an after school program, and today one of my kindergarten kids showed me the lightsaber he made you of these connecting blocks. Well, he got a real kick out of it when I told him that I have real lightsabers and showed him the pictures to prove it. Of course everyone else wanted to see, and one kid told his mom when she came to pick him up that Miss M is secretly a Jedi. Way to blow my secret identity there, little buddy  |

Shade, it's the Flamberge I'm looking at because it's a little closer to Kylo's hilt. I also figured that without the claws if I DO bring in the crossguard length a bit the loss of length won't be as evident. What is the length all the way across yours, and how does that compare to a typical longsword? Watching those longsword videos was making me think the crossguard length is less than the Flamberge would be with 6' side blades.
I (currently) have 6" blades in mine, so 16 1/2" on my Flamberge. My longswords vary between 9 and 11 inches across their crossguards. So when I get blades cut down to 4", that'll give me a still somewhat long 12 1/2" breadth for my Flamberge, but that's manageable without making them into tiny little lightnubs. |

Hm...OK...I think that sold me on getting mine cut down. Sounds like that'll be worth the $20. Thanks for those dimensions. Based on that, I think I will be ready to order as soon as my next paycheck hits. I know it would be better to wait but because I have a con deadline of 10 March, I would rather just get in the order queue now so that even if there's an out of stock issue I'll have my place in line. |
