Holy crap! I'm glad you are all safe! In other news: My ten yr old nephew is playing beggars canyon training mission on SW battlefront. I just laughed so hard- he's like they are difficult to kill (referring to chasing down the TIE fighters)... they made it look so easy in the movie! Kids are adorable  do you play battlefront? |

do you play battlefront?
I've only played the Beta. ive been soooooo slack when it comes to gaming of late, I have a large pile waiting for me to play. Well I dunno how all the other Aussies here celebrated Australia Day.... But this is how ours ended!   Jedi Master Chief Vs the Dark Lord  This is what happens when you get a pile of geeky Halo costumers together.... and then one of them starts eyeing off the stand of lightsabers.... Now we just need to photoshop them into a glassed Reach and all will be perfect in our world... |

Thank the Force that you and yours are alright!! I really hope you find your missing kitty, too. MAN. I can't even imagine what a giant cluster of what-the-FFFF--- this must have been for you and yours. So happy to hear that everyone is okay.
P.S. The ER sucks.
Being in the ED (Emergency Department) wasn't fun, but there were a number of people there who were much worse off than I was (like the guy whose car was hit by a snowplow) which puts things in perspective. But I was wrong about the missing cat. I thought he had gotten out of the house and would come back in a day or two. We found him today. He didn't make it out of the house, and won't be coming back. He was my step-son's cat, and they were pretty much spiritual twins. He's completely devastated, and my wife and I would happily give up every single one of our possessions that did survive the fire to have the cat back for him. Honestly, I'd give me up to have the cat back for him. A lot of second guessing on my part as to what I could/should have done differently to have gotten the cat out too... Here's a picture of the smoke detector that's about 5 feet outside our bedroom door that woke me up.  |

I am so very sorry this has happened to you and your family. I don't know that there is anything you could have done. There is something I will PM you though, that I can't say here. It may be small comfort but I hope it can be something. |

Cause was probably the hot water heater, but that hasn't officially been determined yet. And yes, it could have been far worse. But we'd take worse up to a point if we could have the cat instead. Here he is in better days. His name was Super Cat. He is survived by his brother, Darth Cat, and nephews Gallifrey and Raxacoricofallapatorius, and his mother, Maltese.  |
