I was never much of a sugar person either. I stoped drinking sodas a few years before I was diagnosed with diabetes. It’s the damn carbs that turn into sugar that’s the problem. Everything I like is carb based or meat. Eating meat is good for diabetics because we need protein more than carbs but I had 3 heart attacks at the beginning of 2019 (I feel you on the stress thing, it is very real) so red meat and pork aren’t the greatest options any more and I have to stay away from sodium. So flavor isn’t really an option anymore. I make chia pudding now for %#+’s sake. I’m currently eating things that sound like they are from a vegan hippy nightmare. This should have probably gone in “Venting” but what’s done is done. |

Jeez, I agree on how savagely unfortunate that sounds... Especially if you love the things you're being denied. I probably would have said "forget this" and bought a huge chocolate fudge cake from somewhere that makes like savory wedding cakes and gorged myself into oblivion. Some things are just a bridge too far for me. Might as well convert into a android or something if you can't eat what you want anyway. And the dang heart attacks too? Body sounds like it's staging a rebellion! And you know how a Sith views rebellion. |

Exactly. I’ve told myself over and over that it’s “just food” and it ALMOST works until times are tough and you feel the need to stress eat comfort food. And tough times... just wow. Times have been tough for a lot of of people and I don’t mean to diminish anyone else’s experience but the last two and a half years have been a constant $#+^ show for me. Hey, guess where I am as I’m writing this?  Morphine is just not cutting it right now. As you can see, my bruise is looking much better though.  |

Hey, guess where I am as I’m writing this? Morphine is just not cutting it right now. As you can see, my bruise is looking much better though. My mistake. It’s not appendicitis. It’s a 5mm kidney stone! Yay! There’s a 50/50 chance that I’ll pass it at home without the need for any procedure. I never want to see the inside of a hospital again but Im actually missing an appointment to schedule the first of two knee surgeries by being here right now. 2021 is making 2020 look like a damn sissy. At least I get some Percocet to take home though.  |
