Hey Blue, can you turn the claws backwards so they face downwards instead of up?

Why would you want to? That would prevent you from being able to hold the saber up by the choke point, not to mention you can forget about trying to spin it with the claws on backwards...

It would certainly give the blade a unique look, and I have a fancy with weapons like the rapier and saber. The protection you get from the unique design curving down to protect one's hands

Oh snap!  Using the Raven's claws like a hand guard... how did I not think of that?  Point for you sir.

It would probably give the hilt a better balance too, not quite so tip heavy.
