See if you really want an almost exact version you'd have to find a tailor who could make it for you......for like....a couple thousand bucks.....

Nah - not a couple thou.  Like I said, if you know someone who knows how to draft patterns, they might be able to assist.  They could probably put it together, but not for a couple thousand.  Maybe a thousand - the trick is figuring out what the base material of the jacket would be, and then adding in the bits for the TIE Fighter patches, elbow pads, and those metallic looking epaulets.

It is not a complex design, per say.

The cross chest zipper is not an issue...take a standard jacket cut the for panel out and replace with the cross chest piece...3hrs or so.  Any decent tailor/seamstress could not knock this out for $75-100.

There are issues with the design though that go far beyond any simple zipper and panel swap...it is a runway design...meaning that a regular person could not expect to wear it with any hope of tying their shoes, picking up a penny or a saber, etc.

It is the kind of tight that leather would deny movement.

Other materials that have a bit of give and stretch...but the look from a video game outfit can be a bit of impossible.

Good news is that the jacket is doable.

Did you post a pic of your purchase?  I would think that something could be done with it, maybe just an added cross panel?

If you wanted to go the from-scratch route and have a pattern drafted, you could probably build it from thick neoprene; cheaper and more flexible than leather.

Sewing neoprene is like juggling porcupines...I would rather not do it.

Oh really?  Shame.  I've seen some cool stuff outta neoprene, didn't know it was hard to work with.   Undecided

I had a few ideas of my own, my wife just told me it'd probably be too thick for her machine.  Squishy too.

You can get thin neo but I have experience sewing wet suits...but I had an industrial machine with 3" needles and a 28" arm.

There are plenty of materials that have some spring to them.

In fact most hard outfits that are tight have panels of other material allow for movement...usually in a jacket these are located under the armpit to allow you to raise your arms and/or a line down each side for bending over room.

This can be accomplished using the same material as the jacket, creating a pocket pleat or an accordion fold, but with leather this adds bulk and can lead to "that looks odd".

I can help a bunch more if I can see a pic of your jacket, tell you where to cut and how to build it back up.

Indeed, these pieces are crazy cool!...and oh so expensive!

At their price scale I suspect a jacket would run $750 or so...but I am sure it would look great!

I'm not so sure... something really strange and custom might be pricey (especially depending on the fabrics) but most of their stuff isn't too badly priced IMO.  My cloak was like $140 or so, with the robes being around $180.  The wool fabric they use is nice too.

Then again, who knows about a jacket... I never got around to asking about something like that.  The Luke ROTJ shirt itself is like $170 or so on its own, so perhaps it wouldn't be too bad from there.

Some of there stuff is pricey, but if you want quality that is exactly what you get. Or if you just want just a wool Jedi or Sith robe your looking at $175...$197 with shipping. It's just like the movies. Very big hood and comes from a inch from the ground, and also the big sleeves. If you want to spend a little less you can get it in cotton and your looking at $135...$157 with shipping. Just all depends on what your after. You can have something completely customized as well.
