I grew up in Texas. If my wife's family wasn't in Cali... we'd probably move out there. |

If you are looking for the lowest bar on gun laws, look no further than Lower Alabama. I grew there and I honestly have to say that when I turned 21, I walked into my local sherrif's office and this was the questions:
1. Are you a felon?
2. Do you plan to use this weapon violently?
Make all checks payable to R**** D****, Sheriff of M****** County, Alabama
Total cost to get a gun license was $25. No photo on the ID either. I certainly hope things have changed in the 20 years since I left there.

Oh, how I know that pain... No joke, I had a friend get threatened with Expulsion in High School because we played a game on the quad in our free period that was basically tag, only you had to point your finger at the other guy and say bang. Talk about ludicrous policy.  It's. A. FINGER. I maintain that if everybody had a gun, crime would drop dramatically. Criminals don't want to be shot at either.  |

In Arizona you can buy everything but Class 3 weapons with a simple background check and carry concealed with no permit. The Brady people HATE Arizona.

I'd like to find a state that lets you carry an unmodified C-98, but I think that's probably a pipe dream. Most sane people wouldn't give a civilian anything with that rate of fire. XD

I think you can carry it in PR. Being a territory, I think they can have their own regulations on that. Might be worth looking into. |
