Always scanning the horizon...

« Reply #90 on: February 25, 2016, 09:28:33 AM »

This is a guide listing various websites where you can buy costumes. I read through all threads about costumes and searched the web to collect this information. I have only included websites that sell items which can readily be used for a costume without the need to modify it. The first section of this post lists websites that offer items specifically designed for Star Wars costumes. In the second section you can find other costume pieces, which can be used in a Star Wars context, but are not specifically designed for that purpose.

There are subsections for different costume items, e.g. for robes. If forum members have reviewed these websites, I have mentioned if the reviews were generally good or mixed. (I have not included websites that only got bad reviews.) I have also listed prices for typical items. Note that these prices were valid when I wrote this post, but they might change in the future. The prices are only supposed to give you a rough idea, which costumes could be within your budget. Also note that detailed custom costumes can be significantly more expensive than the standard costumes listed here.

Finally, please contribute if you know any other places that offer costumes, boots, ...
Any reviews or experiences are also welcome.

Hey! This is great! Thanks.

Twin Roses are completely swamped ATM, and will not accept any custom orders - imagine that...lol

I'm about to order boots and vambraces from Dark Knight Armoury (http://www.darkknightarmoury.com/).
Reasonably priced, decent looking leather goods - boots + bracers = ~$200

Now you're killing me smalls. I've been pouring over their replica pistol offerings. Why is there so much money I want to spend? Cry

I saw their P08 Lugers and was inspired to make a Lupin III cosplay. But then I looked up Lupin images and discovered he uses a P38. They had me covered for that too. Grin

Duh. All of the blasters from ANH were just modified real world guns.

Look familiar? The Sterling L2A3 is a British submachine gun used in the British Army from 1953-1983.

This was one of my first, that started making me question. I saw this gun used in the beginning of You Only Live Twice, and thought "Wait. Are those storm trooper blasters?" I was right.

Just like I always thought Qui-gon's comlink looked a little familiar as well.

GET OUT! That's too funny.

I was wondering if anyone has seen some of the on wish.com and what some of your more experienced opinions would be on some of their Star Wars cosplay are. I was introduced to it by my wife and daughter and immediately searched for anything Star Wars related and too my surprise they had a lot of it.
