There's this French movie that came out in 2016 called Raw. I only just recently saw the trailer for it.
Apparently, it's "Rated R for body-eating, buckets of blood and a spectacularly botched Brazilian wax. In French, with English subtitles. Running time: 1 hour 38 minutes." Sounds like my kind of party.

Indeed. There are reports that at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) last year people passed out at showings of Raw because some scenes were so gross. It's French film (so expect subtitles) set in a veterinarian school and (apparently) continues the low budget horror film renaissance that as been happening over the past couple of years. I've heard amazing things about it from festivals last year, and it's getting a limited release this weekend!
Am very jealous that you guys get to see this way before the UK. I'm currently on my way home after my hardcore three picture cinema watching extravaganza. Gonna fit in a 1 hour power nap, shower and change before heading out to the club to meet my friends (the "true" party people never get to the club before 3am! )

It just became Sunday for me, so time for the second edition of LB's Hipster Movie of the Week. KONG: SKULL ISLAND is out. Some have seen it, others (like me) haven't, but hopefully what we all have in common is a love (or at least a passing interest) in monster movies. For my pick this week, I'm going with one of my favorite (and one of the most hated) Godzilla movies: GODZILLA VS. HEDORAH (1971)
Starring: Akira Yamauchi Toshie Kimura Hiroyuki Kawase Directed by: Yoshimitsu Banno Written by: Yoshimitsu Banno Takeshi Kimura (credited as "Kaoru Mabuchi") MPAA Rating: PG Available on: Oddly enough, not anywhere currently! What are some of your favorite Godzilla movies?

Quick little addendum to LB's post, G vs H may not be available to stream anywhere, but it is available to buy on dvd. As great as online streaming services may be, physical media still has a part to play. https://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-Vs-Hedorah-Akira-Yamauchi/dp/B0002V7OEMI was always a fan on Godzilla vs Mothra, Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla and the cheesy men-in-rubber-suits awesomeness that was Godzilla vs King Kong.

But...but...but...men-in-rubber-suits rolling around on unrealistic looking countryside sets is awesome. Why can't we have more of that? Think of how much money they could save!

Rubber suits definitely have their own charm. If any kaiju get into these new movies though, I REALLY want to see King Ghidorah. Rodan would be super cool too. I know Mothra is a big opponent of Godzilla's but, aside from their island, the monster itself is kind of boring.

I was going to go today, but as I only got home from a night out at 10am, I decided to get some sleep and rest today and go see the movie tomorrow (plus i've already seen 5 movies at the cinema this weekend, so this one can wait one more day).

FYI...there is a post credit scene and I think LB will enjoy it. Sorry if you've mentioned it and I missed it, but what did you see this weekend?

I heard that if you read the end credits it ruins the end credit scene. On Friday I saw Logan and Split. Yesterday i saw Lego Batman, Hidden Figures and John Wick 2

No I haven't and I dunno if I will until I can rent it (budgetary reasons ). I'll be anxiously awaiting this post-credits scene I keep hearing about though (pretty sure I can venture a guess that it pertains to a monster universe or something).
