So, Infinit01, Rapine and Hazard502 have me thinking about knives again. I haven't really thought of any knives for about 15 years, beyond simple utility knives, like box cutters. (I see people struggle with scissors in their unboxing videos and I'm thinking: "dude, just use a box cutter") Anyway, I haven't really thought about pocket knives in a long time. But, a good EDC knife is always a good thing to have. So, last week I started looking at some brands suggested by Infinit01 and I settled on trying a few companies first: Kershaw, CRKT and Case. These are all more budget friendly knife companies, which are a good thing for me. We sell some of that stuff at Walmart, but I'm usually not there when the Sporting Goods counter is open. Besides, websites like Amazon and Blade HQ will have better selections. To that end, I bought a few knives off of Amazon:

Top to bottom and smallest to largest, we have a CRKT Squid, Kershaw Shuffle II and a TecX (by Case) Exo-Lock. All of these are small EDC folders, knives you can slip in your pocket (they have pocket clips) to be there but out of your way. They're all manual locking folders, I'm not a huge fan of carrying stuff with springs in my pocket. (I've had automatic knives open in my pocket on numerous occasions) They're all made in China, so they're all around $20. I'll be alternating between the three for carrying over the next several weeks, to decide which I like best.
And, on the less functional but it looks cool side of things, I have this:

I bought that about 20 years ago, so don't ask me where I got it. I like to think of it as Dracula's dagger.

It's 440 stainless steel, made in China. But, it's held up pretty dang well, though it's not like I've really used it for anything. Actually, it's been in a box for years until recently. As far as fixed blade knives, that's probably the type of stuff I'll buy moving forward. (fantasy knives and such) I'm not a military collector, and I have no real use for survival or fighting knives. I do want a decent collection of folders, some for carrying and some for display.
Anyway, that's what I have for now.
