I think the intent was more squadron based or a pre emptive marketing ploy. |

I'm sure if you take a close look at all the POP! Rides SW ships that they all look a bit like that.
the Luke in X-wing does look better than that...even with his big head poking out. maybe I'm biased on the concepts. just don't grab me that much. |

I think's it the coloration...at least from the photo. They should have made the X-Wing dingier and muted the colors. I think it wouldn't have looked as "Playskool" then.

And a black canopy. I took a look at my other SW Rides the other night. They are ALL SD. The T.I.E fighter, the snowspeeder, and the Falcon all have super deformed proportions making them look toyish. Also, this IMO is not that different from the OG X-wing.  I try to focus on what they did right: like using the draining water as the supports. |
