I do have some questions, though:

1. Does the total $250 include shipping? I'm aware that the previous raffles didn't include it, but I wonder if this changed.

2. If our Reward Points cover shipping and then flow into our order, will this count against the $250 minimum?

Shipping has never been included. I doubt that will change now.

To be best of my knowledge, your order has to be $250 after any discounts, such as reward points, are applied. Emory may be able to confirm for sure, but that's how it's worked in the past.

This just settles the matter of hubby's birthday gift: he'll get the Archon v2 he's been drooling over.

Figured it'll give me a lot of extra blades for playing around with (2 16" and a 36") as well as some couplers. I'm interested to see how the blade color turns out.

Same here, Sky.  I figured they were still recovering from the new movie.  Emory knows we love raffles so maybe they are doing one now as a favor to us.  Looking forward to getting my Dark Prophecy in when they restock! 

Entered.  I needed a good, simple sound saber anyway...and I just realized that between early this morning, when I spec'ed the saber out and just now, when I ordered, I had the distraction of taking my son to school and I forgot the requisition charge for DVA and to specify where to put the covertec.

Glad I realized it this quickly, and that US has such good customer service, I have no doubts that they'll take care of me and my absentmindedness.

Hmm, lets see.  Tax refund and bonus from work.  Sounds like it might be time for a new saber.   ;D

Now for the hard part, deciding what to get.  I'm kind of tempted to go for another Dark Prophecy too, but there are a couple of other options.

You know - as exciting as this is, and it is . . . in the past, Raffles have been something of a vanguard for new Saber models.

For example, the last Raffle they did, they announced the Renegade immediately after it ended.

So I guess what I'm saying is - while a Prophecy or Dark Prophecy is calling my name . . . I have a funny feeling we might see something new come out soon based on past patterns by the company.

It's a tough choice.

Just out of curiosity, if someone were to win 3rd or 4th place, would it be possible to pay extra to have them put the Obsidian sound in it?

You would have to e-mail them right away and if shipments haven't already gone out they could probably do that for you.  Of course you would have to check with US, but in my experience they have always been good about making additions to orders as long as they haven't shipped yet.

Yeah - I would actually suggest e-mailing them now with your order # and just let them know - IF you win a Saber without sound, you would want the upgrade and to please give you instructions on how to make that happen since they tend to ship immediately.

That said - this time is unique in that so many hilts are on backorder, so you may have plenty of time depending on what you ordered.

Bought an Emerald Bellicose, 2 shorter blades and a coupler this morning after receiving my first saber (grab bag: V4 apprentice, Violet) on Monday.  I'm hooked!

Well, the Flamberge in my shopping car certainly comes up to $250 :) And my second order was probably only about a month after my first, so there's your precedent :D

Wow sitting at work and get a really cool surprise. I think that it would nice to get a light saber for my daughter for her birthday and maybe one for dear old dad too.

I ordered 2 grab bag sabers at 03/02/2016 at 12:13AM.  Got up this morning and saw the raffle email...i talked to melody about amending the order but was told i cant. so im trying to cancel the order and reorder with a 3rd saber to get me above the limit.  Shouldnt be an issue, all i had was the conformation email.   they're just going to make more money off me if they do it.

There's no 'no purchase required' part, actually the first rule of the raffle states that, to enter, an order of 250$ or higher is required.

Is it possible to use a discount coupon and also enter the raffle at the same time?  I have a discount coupon, but the rules require you to enter "SpringRaffle" in the coupon field.  The order I intend to place will still easily qualify even after I use the discount coupon. 

You should, in theory, be able to enter more than one coupon. Just enter them one at a time.
As long as your total is still $250 before shipping, it should qualify.

Yes! I've been eagerly awaiting my first raffle. I was planning to order another saber and almost did last night. Glad I waited!

how does someone save up for an "event" if it isn't announced earlier?  A deciding factor to go elsewhere had been Ultrasabers' backlog and inventory problems. Springing an "event" out of the blue lost them a good $450 + from me.

2 single color blades, yet 4 channel emerald driver? I'm confused. I thought the emerald driver was for color mixing via usb-computer.   

I think they meant "any two single blade Ultrasabers", rather than "single color".  Two single bladed Emerald sabers, plus coupler.

I tried it and it appears that you can't.  Only one coupon code can be applied at a time.  

I've been stalking the site for ages and finally cut a deal with the wife.  :P

Emory, I made an order 2 to 3 days before this, when I heard about this I got really mad because this is the first time I heard about the spring raffle. Is their any way to make an exception for me. I ordered a graflex CE that was 509 dollars.

I've ordered 5 sabers in the past two months.  I think I need to order my sixth now and hope I win a 7th.  ;D

What does "rational adult" mean?

Flamberge is a nice hilt, a big heavy perhaps.


 I didn't win anything in the last big summer raffle but seeing two of my forum friends take home top prizes made me happy.  I really enjoyed seeing their names at the top of the winner's list.

Everyone should have a Prophecy hilt (regular and Dark), they are so comfortable and look awesome.  This new one will be my FOURTH Prophecy hilt, and I want another one down the road in SRD or EG (UE blade).  But I will admit I also want a regular Shock as well, my Shock LE is hands down the most comfortable hilt I own for actually spinning and practicing with (I remove the wheel from it though)


A Prophecy!  I approve of this idea Lord C, the silver knight would be an excellent addition to the Prophecy Order.


The Graflex is a fantastic hilt, my second favortie by US.  It's also a lot more comfortable to hold than i would have thought going by pictures.  My Graflex videoreview has more views than any of my other hilts.


Well now I'm curious.  Congrats on the Consular, can't wait to see what you do to it, Drahcir.  Good luck in the Raffle!

I unfortunately can't participate yet again u.u Though to really make that saber look bomb and evil looking I would've gone Renegade black short pommel ;o Maybe you could still include on in the order? Just think that would look so sick for sure. Then wondering if you could just simply paint the screw covers to black? Not a bad idea, wish they sold the Renegade pommel buy itself.  I've been thinking about getting an alternate pommel for it but haven't been able to pick one out (Dark Warglaive?), the Renegade one looks good.

In all seriousness, anyone who's worried about money now, there'll almost certainly be more raffles and other great offers. Please don't put yourself in debt just to take part. A lot of us have been saving money while the massive rush has been going on, so we jumped in on the raffle. And for all I know that Lord Canterbury is joking around, I'm certain he won't buy a 'sabre if his budget won't stretch to one.

I'm super interested in entering the raffle but am having the hardest time deciding if I'm going to spend the money. If I enter, it'll be with a saber with all the bells and whistles. Now I just have to choose between the two sabers I've been wanting forever - the Graflex or the Consular. I think the Consular would be better with changing the blade colors to whatever and have it look awesome, not to mention it would be more comfortable to duel with. However, the Graflex hilt is just beautiful and I've been wanting that Luke saber forever. It would look great with any color and look great next to my Archon v3. The choices are killing me! Any input on what you guys like about these sabers?

Even if I were to choose a saber, the question would be what to order.  Very tempted to get a sound Dark Prophecy to go with my stunt, but I'm liking the idea of both EG and BH, so there'd be another choice.

Since you already have a Prophecy I think you made a good choice. The Shock is a great hilt, I love my LE version and want a regular one as well.  It is probably the most underrated saber that I own.  I do not voice how awesome this hilt is enough on the forum. I stand by my statement, for practicing and spining it is even more comfortable than the Prophecy (big words coming from me), I prefer the look of the Prophecy a lot more, but the Shock still has a nice regal Jedi Council look to it that I like. My only probably was that mine came with the wheel on the left side, so I took it off.  Need to find out what size screw I need to cover the hole up with one day.

Edit*  Interesting to see a regular Shock in BR, looking forward to pics. 

Just placed my order for the raffle entry. Graflex SE with Obsidian Sound and Emerald driver. I'm excited to play around with the Emerald driver and the v4 sounds. Definitely won't be able to afford anything in the near future, but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. Plus, you can't win if you don't play the game. I've never been a part of an Ultrasabers raffle before and am curious to see how lucky I am. Now I wait patiently for it to arrive...

Looks like I'll be sitting this one out...my car snapped a timing belt, which caused a blown head gasket. $700 to fix it, but it was a $300 beater, so I'll probably try and get a replacement. Which means I need a big chunk of dough quick.

In your guys opinion what seems to be the most popular saber color, and fav sound from the obsidian board? i got 2 grab bag sabers a few months ago for myself and my cousin and we loved em (had a sweet fight in the snow at night really looked cool with the bright LEDs), so now I bought the bellicose (backordered) :[ with the premium sound because me humming with my grab bag saber wasnt cuttin it. Appreciate the feedback.

Having just played around with mine, I'd have to say that green shows up most vibrantly IMO.  The darker blue looks pretty sweet too.  I'm still stuck on red though...swayed by the Dark Side I guess.

I suppose I'm a traditionalist when it comes to sounds.  Obsidian defaults are just fine by me.

IMO GB is the best, but that's just me  ;) And like Lord Rapine, I tend to stick with the default sound font. I've only changed it on a couple of my sabers.

Placed my raffle order last night and already go the shipping notice this morning! I did however realize that I did not enter my own saberforum username within the comment section. After my heart skipped a beat at the realization, I sent a quick email to see if the username could be added. Haven't received a reply yet (I just sent the email), but hopefully they can help me out. I hate that I overlooked the username before placing the order and I hate making extra work for the awesome people at ultrasabers.

SPRING RAFFLE
Episode 1: A New Struggle

"Aw crap. Not MORE incentive!" Approximately 4 months have passed since the purchase of Beebo_8's first Ultrasaber's lightsaber. Every day, he wielded his Bellicose with honor and excitement. He gazed at the fine arctic blue light flowing from the kyber-neticly soldered wires and boards and stuff that brought his saber to life. He knew, without a doubt, this was his saber. This feeling kept strong with him for a whole 172,800 seconds.

Beebo_8 knew he was an adult. Mortgage, grocery, utility, and tax payments to make to the First Order, amongst other things, kept his desires for a second saber at bay. And besides, did his role model Jedis from the movies wield two sabers? Did Luke, Obi-wan, or Yoda double fist elegant weapons? Heck no. So why should he? But his emotions weren't kidding himself.

He visited the forums. And what seemed like a leap from total oblivion which is now Alderon (too soon?) before his eyes was a new thread for a totally unexpected spring raffle from the one and only Emory and crew. Fifty (maybe even more???) prizes. Unreleased exclusives (what does THAT mean???). Top-tier saber prizes. And just like that, Beebo's ability to resist became equivalent to a bounty hunter next to a blind guy standing over a Sarlack pit.

He visited Ultrasabers, and being the epitome of creature of habit, selected the "Deal of the Day" button not expecting anything, just as he had 100's of times before but to no avail. But before his eyes, beyond total belief, a picture of his desired saber was revealed. At this point, the bounty hunter of his resistance was being digested by the Sarlack and was no more. He constructed his Archon 2.1 saber with the following relevant options:

* Tri-Cree Consular Green contained by a heavy grade blade
* Obsidian V4 sound granted passage from the hilt via the standard (black and silver) pommel
* Black non-illum AV switch to bring the saber to life (and a request for a black covertec)

And just like that, the deal was done. He submitted his raffle ticket, saved a penny that he will put towards his next order, and joined the ranks of eagerly waiting saber enthusiasts, that not only are waiting for their top-notch sabers, but also to know the fate of their electronic tickets. May the force be with you all and your tickets. Except to the Siths. Selfish pricks. :)

How often does US have raffles per year, on average? I've been a customer since October last year and spent way more than I expected on lightsabers. It's a blessing and a curse...

The V2 body is really comfortable, I'm very fond of mine.  I think the regular LE body looks too plain, the V2 body has more cool stuff going on IMO.

I'm thoughtful guy.  Thoughtful as in thinking about Prophecy hilts that is.  I should praise the shock hilts more though, they are pretty awesome.  And I will say the Archon V3.1 might be my next hilt if I get a second raffle entry in.  Looking at the Catalyst too though.

I just made my very first Ultrasabers purchase on the 29th. Luckily, though, I get paid again on the 15th, so I'll be able to make the deadline. I wasn't expecting my second purchase so soon after my first, but hey, why the heck not? For Dragoncon this year I was planning a Jedi cosplay for one day and a Sith for another, so I needed a saber for my Sith cosplay anyway. Got my eyes on a Dark Prophecy this go around.

Not that I've seen.  I could mock it up with my Flamberge and an empty Flamberge hilt, I suppose, but I suspect it would be very awkward to wield.

I like the V2, but the LE is really nice. Still close enough to Kylo Ren's to be used in a costume, but just different enough to be generic if used as such....I'll have to think on this more.

That's what I got on my Manticore. UltraEdge, as far as I know, appears fuller, but is a little dimmer.  If you want to do full-contact, I recommend a heavy-duty blade though.

Smarter, more experienced members would likely know more though. :)

It's all in the eye of the beholder; I'm sure you can find people on here that woud say UltraEdge (I would agree there) and others would say Clear.

What I'm sure of is - you'll love it when you get it!  And you can always buy a different blade at some point if you want to try the clear blades.

Some great sabers being ordered, the graflex and bellicose are two of my favorite hilts.  Glad to see them being so popular this raffle.

I think SY would probably look good in either blade but I would prefer te standard blade for it myself.

@TJ, you should definitely get the flamberge that appeals to you the most, but I can't say enough how much I enjoy the feel of the V2 body on mine.

Ok one more question my Masters...I have decided on my raffle saber an Archon V2.1 in TRI Consular Green. But the blade, what size should I get? Since most of you have one, I am only 5'7" and have a 32" blade on my Prophecy which is perfect, but the blade sits deep in the Archon so should I get a 36" blade so it isn't to small?? Please and thanks for the help...I won't ask anymore questions....wait that's a lie....lol...

I think with the Archon V2.1 you would be fine sticking with the 36" standard size blade. As you said, it has a fairly deep socket (about 3-4 inches if I remember correctly) so that should bring it close to 32" of blade extending from the top of the emitter  :)

You are correct, Sedsti.  Just measured again and you beat me to the response! :)

Do keep in mind that the Prophecy has a deep emitter too, so if you're used to a 32" blade in the prophecy you may still want one in the archon.

At 5'6 myself, I much prefer a 32" blade on my archon V 2.1.

Final Word on this issue. 

We have been doing these raffles for YEARS.  YEARS!!!!  We've done anywhere from 4-8 raffles every year.  We've given away HUNDREDS of sabers.  We know what we are doing.  And we aren't doing anything illegal.

No purchase is required.  We aren't selling raffle tickets.  We're selling sabers.  And a select few people that purchase our sabers have the opportunity to win a free saber.

There are no LOSERS here because regardless you will get what you purchased.  An awesome Ultrasaber.

That being said, drop this non-issue.  We've run dozens and dozens of previous raffles and we're going to run dozens and dozens of future raffles.  And we're going to continue to give away sabers to the community that supports us and create excitement around the custom lightsaber hobby.

Thanks for watching the reviews, I'm glad you find them helpful!  I very much enjoy making them.  I'm looking forward to getting some new one's made, I'll have one up on my new Dark Prophecy soon after it comes in from back order.  Looking forward to doing comparisons between it and my first Dark Prophecy.  My new one has the new Tri BR, red illuminated AV switch, and V4 soundboard.  None of those option were available when I ordered my first one.  US is constantly coming up with new features that let us customize our sabers to our liking.  Looking forward to seeing some of these (unreleased exclusives.)

The Archon V2.1 was my first premium saber and it remains my favorite. It's very versitle because of its two piece emitter/neck system. You can't go wrong with that one!  :)

For the foreseeable future the Archon will always be my favourite hilt, I just love it. I certainly recommend it to anyone who's looking into it.

We should have an epic poll sometime to see what people vote for as their favourite hilt.

Including dark/light and LE options, I make it 89 individual hilts, but then you have things like the nickel Menace, Graflex etc. being separate hilts, where that's not the case on the Guardian, Overlord and so on.

It'd be a big poll! They'd probably all end up at about 1%, except for Prowl hacking it to vote multiple times for the Prophecy/Dark Prophecy to make them the clear winners ;)

Got me to jump on this.  I was looking to get my hands on something like an Archon 2.1, and thanks to a work bonus the timing couldn't be "better".  Here's hoping the odds are in my favor!

Great choice, the Graflex is an amazing saber.  Looks fantastic and is actually comfortable to hold as well. 


There has been at least one occasion where someone has won two prizes with separate entries in one raffle, so it can happen.  I remember seeing it, but forget which raffle it was.  It's super rare but can happen.

Hey guys, another post from me.

I'm trying to make a decision on finally getting a saber with sound for this raffle. Is the Obsidian LITE soundboard good, or is it worth the extra $50 or so for the Obsidian V4 soundboard and premium sound?

I'm thinking of either going with the Catalyst or the Prophecy... Thoughts?

The difference is the battery configuration, as far as I know.  Obsidian LITE boards only come in a standard set-up.  Regular alkaline batteries.  If you'd like a lithium set-up, go for the V3 or V4.  The sound quality, and volume are nearly identical I believe.

In choosing the hilt, I suggest watching a few review videos. :)

Thanks! Yea, I saw that first video already and that's what made me lean towards the Prophecy, it just looks so clean. If the only difference is the batteries, and from some more research a little bit of brightness and possible sound strength, I think the LITE board would be fine for me. For now, I don't see myself customizing and changing fonts very often, if at all.

I think I've made my decision! Now to get the roommates to pay me their portion of the rent...

I'm quite happy with the default obsidian sounds, even though I got the premium set-up on my Manticore.  I've just ordered a dark Initiate V4 with LITE sound. 

I can compare for my self very soon!

Just got my Liberator V3, and I'm bouncing off the freaking walls, you rock US! I don't care if I win now, this bad boy is more than enough!

If you can afford it, the Obsidian v4 premium setup is the way to go imho for you first saber with sound.  My friend and I both ordered Obsidian lite sabers after a certain movie came out.  We upgraded to v4 because I read on the forums someone had gotten their saber after upgrading, and we both couldn't be happier.  I was considering the lite, but since it's only a $45 difference (-$5 because I have chargers) I went for the v4 again.

Ever since I put in 4" side blades, my V2 has seemed far less cumbersome.  Still a big sucker, but easier to maneuver and fight with.

You are correct, he transforms into a police Datsun/Nissan Fairlady.  He is one of my childhood heroes and I have adopted his name as my own.

Well, I can tell you the Prophecy is a fantastic hilt, I own three with another on the way.  I am very interested in the Catalyst as well, seems like it would make a good companion to the Prophecy.

Logos is right, the Flamberge is a massive hilt.  It's fun though, I'm fond of mine.

Got US to change out my order, just had to make a small purchase of requisition charges to cover the extra cost. I've got a fully blacked out Dark Menace in BR w/Obsidian Lite on order for the raffle! Any other Menace orderers out there? Just trying to get an idea if the hilts are back in stock yet, or what my wait time might look like.

I know I'm late to the convo, as you may have already made your decision. But my first saber was a Prophecy with Obs lite sound. It is awesome.  Just got it last month! The lite sound is so loud, and it is bright! I ordered for the raffle the V4 sound just to have a difference of sound and options to change it. But I believe the Obs sound is pretty much similar from the videos I've watched. But it's totally up to you. But I am so happy with my Prophecy that I wanted another Ultrasaber in less than a month! Haha... Good luck with the purchase of which ever you choose, guaranteed you won't be disappointed!

I have a dark mantis, They are a tad on the heavier side. A recommended hold would be just below the emitter and just below the bend in the neck for two handed. If you remove the ring around the neck with the chevrons machined in it can be easier to hold.

So my car's transmission died, so my second saber entry may have to wait...
On the upside, i get my bellicose tomorrow!!

Darth Logos coined the term "Stealth Dark Menace" when they were first released, and there is a thread here with some different blade colours etc . . . http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=25509.msg383124#msg383124 . . . when you get yours maybe you could share pics there as well ? . . . For the various Obsidian soundboards, those looking can think of it this way.

If you just want a lightsaber with sound and like the default Obsidian sound, get the Obsidian LITE (it is also cheaper and uses AAA batteries)

If you want longer battery life, but also just want the default Obsidian sound, or might want to change it to something perhaps more Sith-like, get the Obsidian v3 (Premium Sound - uses Li-Ion batteries)

If you want a mute for your lightsaber, get the Obsidian v4.

(Also if you want to be able to change to large sound fonts or have more than one option at a time, get the Obsidian v4)

But seriously, a mute feature is worth $10 extra over the price of Premium Sound.

Nice pics, glad you are enjoying your new Graflex! It's quintessential hilt for the avid collector.  We usually start a raffle pic thread in the gallery section for raffle entry/prize sabers.  We tend to wait until the end of the raffle though or else the first several pages will be filled just with text of people taking about getting their sabers in soon (which is what this is here for).  Makes the raffle prize/entry thread hard to navigate to see all the pics.  A good time to start one is the day a raffle is ending.

I do love it though, and the Guardian, Archon, and Consular are still on the list of sabers to collect!

Decided to order the Dominix LE v4 I've been considering ever since they came out.  (I had started planning in October to order it next time there was a sale; I got tired of waiting, and decided a raffle counted. ;) )  Ordered it yesterday, and it was listed as out of stock with a 1-15 week lead time.  Shipped today.  Technically, that's outside of the promised 1-15 week window, yet somehow I'm not at all upset by that...  :D

BTW, I love that the raffle entry is also a 1-cent discount.   :D  That saved me, like, 0.002% off my saber!  ;D

Almost exactly like that, yes. The only difference on mine will be the red illuminated AV switch. Just needed more red to add a little more evil. :P

I'll definitely post pics whenever it shows up! I was told the hilts would be back in 'early March' but nothing more specific than that.

I am seeing some really great choices from some of our newer members!  Yes, these Raffles bring out the best in saber choices and configurations, without a doubt! :)  Remember:  PACE YOURSELVES!  It's easy to get caught up in the frenzy and order hilt after hilt.  I will admit, it is an addiction! :P  Most likely there will be other Raffles this year and possibly........some new offerings(?) ::)  That said, keep a little back in your wallets for the coming.  Good luck to all that entered the Raffle and MTFBWYA! ;D

I just got a shipped notification for my light side, "Darth Windu" MENACE!!
Mine isn't a black one but I figured yours can't be too far off either.
(decided to name my saber Darth Windu over Mace Maul...I think it's cooler)

This month is one of the best I will have had in ages.... not only will I get my first saber in a couple of weeks but then I have a song coming out on the 17th, which will be on Youtube - then the day after is THE RAFFLE!!!!

Thanks for the great advice. Saber collecting really is addictive. The day I placed my raffle order, I had just had a grab bag delivered. I think I'll sit back and wait for the raffle results.

That's a great setup!  I will admit I prefer VA in a standard blade myself, but I think that VA with a blue illuminated switch is a great combo!  Always happy to see someone picking a Prophecy!  Good luck on the raffle!

I want to get my 3yo daughter an Initiate LE v2 in Adagen Silver w/disks.. and I'm trying to resist the urge of ordering another saber for additional entry..

This may be a silly question, but when entering your forum username in the comment box when submitting a purchase for the raffle, do you put just ypur username and nothing else (i.e. "Daximum"), or do you put something like "Forum Username: Daximum?"

Just your Forum name.  I like to capitalize all the letters to make it stand out. :)

I usually say Username: Drahcir, but I doubt it really matters.

Hello all, Just curious as I wait for my Archon and the results of the raffle. I was reading over the prizes and was wondering about it saying a single colored Ultrasaber. Does that mean you can only choose the GB, CG, BR etc...or could you get a AB, VA, or SRD color? just wondering while we wait. Thanks!

Prize sabers can  be any blade color, basic or premium or even a forum color.

She's got one of those cheapo walmart "sabers" but she always asks for one of mine. we have a little sword rack in her room with her plastic sabers on it... so It'd be cool to get her a real one.
